Profile → Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. This takes effect immediately and needs no email. Use it if you would rather not wait for us.

Either way, deletion is final. There is no grace period and nothing is held back for one: we do not keep a copy of your details to undo it with, so please be sure before you confirm.

What is deleted

• Your profile: display name, username, email address and password.
• Your interests, your "I'm Play" declaration, language and notification settings, referral code.
• Your device record, push notification token and active session.
• Events you created that have not happened yet — they are cancelled, the people who joined are told, and the event, its chat and its guest list are removed.
• The guest lists of your past events too, even though those events themselves stay — see below.
• Your place in events created by other people, including any items you had claimed.
• Guests you recorded by name, in every event.
• Your saved places, your friendships and friend requests, your votes in event polls, your subscriptions to recurring event series, and your unread markers in chats.

What is kept, and why

The Privacy Policy provides for deletion of information that is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected for. A few records remain necessary after an account is gone:

• Ratings you gave other people. Removing them would silently change other people's scores for something they did not do. Section 8(b) of the Privacy Policy provides that this data is retained internally for policy enforcement and preventing misuse.
• The record that you accepted the Terms and the Privacy Policy. This is the evidence that consent was given, and it is the one record that deletion would destroy the proof of.
• Reports of abuse made by you or about you, so that a blocked account cannot be cleared by deleting and re-registering.
• Purchase records, where a tax or accounting obligation requires them to be kept.
• Messages you sent in event chats stay in the conversation they belong to, because deleting them would put holes in other people's conversations. They are no longer attributed to you.
• Events you hosted that already happened. They are part of the history of everyone else who was there, and they are what the ratings from that evening are attached to. Removing them would erase other people's record of a night they went to. Your name comes off, the event stays.

Nothing in this list is kept for longer than the purpose requires. Information about a guest who has no Tonika account is deleted automatically 90 days after the event ends, whether or not anyone asks.

Your subscription is separate

Deleting your account does not cancel an active Premium subscription. Apple and Google run the billing, and only they can stop it. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play before you delete the account, or you will keep being charged for something you can no longer use.

You do not have an account

If someone recorded you as a guest at their event and you want that removed, write to support@tonika.fun with your name and the event, and we will delete it within 14 business days. You do not need to create an account to ask, and we will not ask you to.
