The idea

Most plans die in a group chat. Tonika turns them into something real: you open a map, see what is happening around you tonight, and join with one tap. Or you post your own — a football game, a picnic, a board-game evening, a birthday — and let people find it.

It is built around the moment of deciding, not the moment of browsing. Everything is on a map, everything is soon, and joining takes seconds.

What you can do

• Find what is near you. A live map of events happening around you, grouped by area and filtered by category.
• Host in under a minute. Name it, drop a pin, pick a time — done. Location can be set from GPS or picked on the map.
• Keep private plans private. Events can be public, friends-only or invite-only. Private ones open with a code or a link and appear to nobody else.
• Reveal the address when you want to. The exact location can stay hidden until a chosen time before the start; until then people see only the area.
• Share what to bring. A shared list where each person claims an item, so nobody arrives with three bags of ice.
• Split the cost. Free, split evenly, or a fixed price per person, with the per-person amount shown as you type.
• Waitlists that work. When an event fills up, people queue — and the next in line is promoted automatically when a spot opens.
• Celebrations. Birthdays and weddings get their own flow, with themes and a limit on extra guests each person may bring.
• Ratings and friends. After an event you can rate the people you met and add them as friends, so you know who you are meeting next time.
• Gets you there. One tap opens the route in Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps, and the event can be added to your device calendar.

Who it is for

People who have just moved to a new city, anyone whose friends are busy on the night they are free, hobby groups looking for a fourth player, and hosts who want to organise something without building a guest list by hand.

• Free to use. An optional premium subscription removes advertising and unlocks host features.
